About Us
Bar-B-Que has been a McNatt family tradition for three generations. In fact, it dates back to 1934 when a famous southern Bar-B-Que recipe was handed down to Grandpa (Eldon) McNatt. Grandpa subsequently began to offer it in his SW Missouri restaurant(s). Soon the popularity of Grandpa´s Bar-B-Que spread and the family became a frequent caterer to the community. While many have tried to purchase the recipe, the family has kept it a secret.
In 2006 Drew McNatt started to take an interest in the old recipe and later that year started the Hog Tide Bar-B-Que competition team in honor of Grandpa. The name comes from the two universities that Drew played football for during his college days, the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Although Drew "enhanced" the recipe to match today´s pallet, he still cooks with the same love and passion of Bar-B-Que as Grandpa McNatt did 75+ years ago.

Cooking Classes
Whether you are a competitive BBQ’er or a backyard cook wanting to learn how to create award winning barbeque, the Hog Tide Bar-B-Que class is for you. The class is taught by competitive BBQ pitmaster Drew McNatt. In his short 5 year career Drew has won over 150 top ten awards including 5 Grand Championships, 3 Reserve Grand Championships, 4 Peoples Choice Awards and holds the title of best brisket in NW Arkansas for two years running. Most reacently Hog Tide Bar-B-Que has finished 3rd Overall at the USA BBQ Championships, 3rd Runner-Up at the American Royal (World Series of BBQ) and finished 5th in Ribs and 3rd in Pork at the prestigous Jack Daniels Invitational World Championships of BBQ.
The class has been developed to teach EVERYTHING that will help you become a consistent winner and to help you become “one of the teams to beat”. During the school, a full contest cook is simulated (Chicken, Ribs, Pork and Brisket). Everything from rubs, sauces, to other tricks of the trade will be revealed. No matter what your competition level, you’ll walk away from this class with invaluable tips that will help you become a better BBQ’er.
